William Gordon Munro

William Gordon Munro, 94, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. He was born July 9, 1923 in Middlesborough, England. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Munro; his wife, Sarah Jane Munro; his brother, Alan A. Munro; and his daughter, June Clay Holt. He is survived by a daughter, Debbie Mary Woodham of Dothan, AL; also 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren in Texas; and 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren in Alabama. He retired from Eby Construction Company in 1983 after 30 years. Prior to that, he worked for 3 local architectural firms. He was in the Field Artillery during World War II and served in 6 countries in Europe. His services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Burial will be by his wifes side at Maple Grove Cemetery. Gifts to the Kansas Humane Society (3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS, 67219) will be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
