William “Bud” Henry Collins passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 8, 2022, with his wife, Margie, by his side. Bud was born February 4, 1936 in Kansas City, Kansas, the oldest son of Wilma and Henry ”Harry” Collins. Bud graduated from Wynadotte High School, associate degree from Butler Community College and bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University while pursuing his Executive Professional Pharmaceutical career with Merck for 45 years. Margie and Bud celebrated 22 years of marriage before his passing. In additional to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Nancy McKinney (Kansas City); brother, Richard Collins (Wichita). Surviving in addition to his wife, Margie; his daughters, Vickie Anderson (Wichita), Jennifer Collins (Colorado); mother of his daughters, Nancy Sphar (Bel Air); stepson, Ken Thomas (Wichita); stepdaughter, Brenda Mason Thomas (Wichita); grandchildren, Lindsay Anderson (Wichita), Addison and Sydney DeTrolio (Colorado), Jacqueline Wiser (California), Bailee Thomas (Wichita); great-grandchildren, Hayley, Jenna, Lucille, Henry and Abram. Bud was a lifelong sport enthusiast with a particular passion for Wichita State Basketball, Green Bay Packers, KC Chiefs, KC Royals, and the PGA. He was an avid golfer, with two hole in one’s (actually only one as the second one was a 3-first ball went in the drink, at Wichita Country Club, ElDorado Country Club, Pagosa Springs and Vail Colorado. He was awarded the Sasketchewan Catch and Release for a 46” Northern Pike at Wapata lake, as his men’s club/group went every year to fish and came back with some WILD stories. Bud excelled in his career receiving many awards. He enjoyed the Wichita Symphony and many gala events that Wichita had to offer.
