William Lanny Baize, 69, was called home on February 6, 2024. William “Lanny” was born in Morgantown, KY on October 15, 1954. William served in the US Army from October 22, 1982 to April 15, 1991 where he earned several medals. He worked in the aviation industry for over 29 years, obtaining his A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) License from the Federal Aviation Administration. William was a loving and devoted husband, father, papaw, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He lived a very humble life, devoted to the ones he loved and spent his time helping others. He traveled the world not only through the military and Textron Aviation, but through the many adventures with his beloved wife.William is survived by his wife, Cristina; daughters, Michelle Perry of Caneyville, KY, and Caressa Baize of Austin, TX; stepsons, Jorge Lopez (Odila) of Houston, TX, and Andres Martinez of Wichita, KS; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, William Baize and Ina Pearl Brister; and sister, Janet Meairs. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 2 pm at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary, 6555 E Central, Wichita, KS. Guests will have an opportunity to express their condolences.A memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.

William is truly missed. William has been so kind and caring to Cristina and so many of his family and friends. William will be watching over them from Heaven. Every time I talked with William I came away with a brighter outlook on life. Prayers continue that William’s family and friends keep good memories of him in their minds and hearts.
So sorry to hear about your dear hubby Christina. When I would c u both together you both had so much love for each other. I’m so glad that u both had so much happiness with the yrs and memories u made together. My prayers are with u and your family Christina.
