William Riedel, of Fort Worth, Texas, 76, died Monday, June 23, 2025.
At the age of 18, Bill enlisted in the US Army. He valued his service highly by serving two tours in Vietnam. As part of this service, Bill was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star and was a proud member of the 101st Airborne Division.
Spending most of his career in powerplant construction afforded Bill the opportunity to live and work overseas. He and Linda spent years traveling the world and seeing places most people only read about. When not working or traveling, Bill spent his time building model airplanes, boats, cars, and RC tanks.
William was preceded in death by his son, Brian; parents, Bob and Gerry; brother, Robert “Butch”; and sister, Jeri Dawn. He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Stephanie (Tim); grandsons, Luke and Hudson; granddaughter, Lauren; and sister, Karen Holden.
Bill will be laid to rest with his son, Brian, in Bay City, Texas.

So sorry to hear this. Got to know Bill quite well while he was working in Eureka, Ca. My friend and I met Bill at Lost Coast Brewery, having an afternoon beer after work. Over the period of a couple of years we all became pretty friends now they are both gone too soon. Certainly have missed the conversations we all used to have. R.I.P. old friend.
