Ulrich, Dr. Yvonne Mae (Campbell), 79, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Memorial Service will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at College Hill United Methodist Church. Yvonne had a passion for her work and research with the hope of encouraging change through educating and caregiving. Being a woman of determination, she set goals and accomplished them a step at a time. After working several years as a registered nurse, and while married and raising children, she earned her Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree from Wichita State University, and her Doctorate Degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She taught nursing through the WSU School of Nursing and continued on with post doctorate work and research at Washington University in Seattle until 2007. Married nearly 57 years to James “Jim” Ulrich, she knew before their first date that he was “the one.” She will be remembered for her courage, grace, and her ability to see the beauty within each person. She will be missed and we will always hold her in our hearts. Survived by her husband, James “Jim” of Wichita; daughters, Ellen Ulrich (Jim Francis) of Augusta, Renee Salmans of Wichita, Jery Lynn Ulrich of Fraser, CO; silbings, Jeanette Baker of Charleston, WV, Phillip Campbell of Blue Springs, MO; half-siblings, Alan Campbell, Diane Campbell, Katie Jones, Shirley Williams; grandchildren, Drew Scofield, Aaron Weaver, Sheena Francis, Jamie Francis, Joel Weaver, Adam Salmans, and Samantha Salmans; five great-grandchildren. She was an inspiration to many and sought truth in all that she did. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
