Betty was a wonderful woman, loved by so many people and will be dearly missed. She loved God and family more than anything. The last years of her life were spent coping with Alzheimers disease. Her faith helped her to cope with all hardships and we know her words to us at this time would be similar to the following poem from Jane M Grippen: “Weep not for me in death, for I have just begun! My soul unbound at last, speeds homeward toward the Son. This all too binding earthly cloak, thrown off eternally - rejoice! I am set free of mortal chains, to hear my Masters voice. Go forth, but not with tears, I am where I belong. Seek you what I have found, proclaim His glory song!” In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 2701 Pattie, Wichita, KS, 67216 or to KU Endowment Alzheimers Disease Center; 3901 Rainbow Blvd; MS 3012; Kansas City, KS 66160 or visit KUAlzheimer.org and click on the “support the ADC” link.
