Miller, Emily Jane, 93, died Sunday, January 1, 2012. Memorial service 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, First Presbyterian Church. Emily earned a bachelors degree in 1940 and a masters in 1941, both from KU, and taught high school English during and after WW II. Emily was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church in Arkansas City and Wichita. She was a member since 1949 of the WSU Womens Association (formerly the “Dames”), being president, 1963-64, and belonged for 60+ years to the Order of the Eastern Star. She was active in Scouting in her youth and with her children. Preceded by parents, Oral and Katherine Yount and husband, William E. Miller. Survivors, sons, William David Miller of Wichita and Philip Miller (Julia Kellman) of Urbana, IL; daughter, Katherine Bohnenkamper (David) of Springfield, MO; grandson, Daniel Bohnenkamper; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Beemiller of Fredericksburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorials to: First Presbyterian Church Transportation Service, 525 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67214 and the William Miller Memorial, c/o Wichita State University Foundation, 1845 Fairmount, Wichita, KS, 67260-0002. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
