Please accept our deepest condolences for your family’s loss.
A sad day for us to hear of the passing of a former member of the WJAG Radio Family. While Gene had long since left WJAG when I joined WJAG in 1985, we worked as a competitor in the Norfolk Market for many years. I always admired Gene and his accomplishments at KNEN. He was always kind to me as a young broadcaster and his accomplishments were always a valuable lesson for those whom worked for him and those whom competed against him in Norfolk. We missed Gene and Jeannette when they left Norfolk and we will now forever miss a broadcast friend whom has been sadly silenced. With kind regards in your sorrow, Bradley Hughes Executive VP / General Manager WJAG Inc.
Jeannette, Doug, Matt, Erica, Sue, Larry and family, So sorry to hear of Gene’s illness and death. You were all in our prayers and will remain in our thoughts and prayers. He was an awesome man. Hold tight to those fond memories of him and talk often about them with each other. He will be forever in your hearts. Our Sympathy, Linda & Bob Ternus and family; Joe & Eleanor Schaecher.
Jeanette, You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I know how you feel. Please take care of yourself. I will be thinking of you.
Jeannette and Doug I’m so sorry to hear about Gene. I am unable to attend the service but you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear Jeannette, Sue, Doug and families, I just read Gene OB in the Norfolk Daily News and it was a very nice write up with a nice photo. I’m so sorry for your loss, I still remember the great margarita’s Gene made for me and my friends a couple years ago when we visited in Branson. So glad we stopped and visited that time. You are all in my prayers, thinking of you, cousin Dianne Jaeger.
Sue, I was so sorry to read of your father’s passing. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. May God’s peace comfort you.
Gene was a great broadcaster and manager in our organization. A good friend and whose judgment I valued. Always direct and his viewpoints were well thought out. He will be greatly missed by his fellow broadcasters and friends and most especially by me.
