Soderstrom, Evelyn Viola, 96, homemaker, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010. Visitation with the family will be 5:30 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7 and a celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 8, both at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Preceded in death by parents, William and Alice (Gannon) Koefoed, husband, Earl Frank Soderstrom and brothers, William and George Koefoed. Survivors: son, Dale (Karen) Soderstrom of Wichita; daughter, Sandra (Mike) Thomas of Wichita; 2 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. Memorials have been established with Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 N. Greenwich, Wichita, 67206 and Senior Services Inc. of Wichita, 200 S. Walnut, Wichita, 67213.
Visitation with the family will be 5:30 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7 at Downing Lahey Mortuary East.

Evelyn was a wonderful person who truely love her family very deeply. The short time i came to know her we became very good friend. I know she is in the house of God,i will miss her, but i know God is always on time. God bless you.
I thoroughly enjoyed working for and getting to know Evelyn. I looked forward to our time together and she did also. We became friends and I always made sure I had time for our ‘ Pepsi break.’ She loved her family deeply. I know Evelyn is with our Savior and all her loved ones in heaven, but I will miss her and will never forget her. She was one of a kind, a very special lady. I pray our Heavenly Father will comfort you and give you peace.
