James Edwin Telander

Telander, James Edwin (Tee), 79, father, military veteran, avid golfer and traveler, died peacefully, Friday July 26, 2013 in Reno, NV. He was the loving husband of the late Mary Lee (Sperling) Telander. Born in Clay Center, KS August 4, 1933. Tee was the son of the late Willard (Pete) and Juanita Telander. He was also, preceded in death by his sister Donna Mae Cinnamon. Tee was both a Navy and Air Force veteran who served as a medic, 22nd Casualty Staging Flight, Da Nang Air Base, Vietnam, January 1969 to 1970. He retired from the Air Force after 23 years at the rank of Master Sergeant. He continued to work as a hospital services manager with ServiceMasters in Concord, NH, New Orleans, LA, Oklahoma City, OK and Wichita, KS. Survivors: sons, Frankie (Carol) and Johnny (Berneta) Rohrbough, Steven (Angie) and Phillip (Maggie) Telander; daughters Sharon (Larry) Beichle, Debbie (Tony Graves) McDaniel, Tami (Jay) Preston, and Lori (Thad Cook) Blair; 25 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Services will be Friday, August 2, 2013; Visitation with the family will be 12:00 - 1:30 P.M.; Funeral Service at 1:30 P.M; both at Downing Lahey Mortuary, 6555 E. Central, Wichita, KS. Burial will follow at the Kensington Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions or memorial gifts should be offered through the Michael J.
