Lyons, John J., 85, retired owner of Lyons Petroleum, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006. Service 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 22, 2006, Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Survivors: son, D. Michael Lyons (Rebecca) of Morristown, NJ; daughter, Sheila Lyons of Wichita; brothers, Edward Lyons of Pittsburgh, PA and Ted Lyons of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Caitlyn Lyons and Sean Michael Lyons; special friend, Jean Froelke of Wichita. A memorial has been established with the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 16261, Wichita, KS, 67216.

John took me under his wing over 35 years ago when I was still in junior high. I was running around with an old Lieca 35mm camera and he helped me upgrade my equipment and skills over the rest of my life, not just in photography. I always enjoyed his advice, hummor, and stories. Thank you John David
