Avila, Lupe R., 83, homemaker, peacefully passed away at home Saturday, April 11, 2009. Visitation with the family, beginning at 5:00 P.M. followed by a rosary at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 15, Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Graveside service, 11:00 A.M., Thursday, April 16, Resthaven Cemetery. Preceded in death by husband, Urban; son, Tom. Survivors: daughters, Cecilia Blackwell, Margaret (Ken) Prichard, Irene (Randy) Follin, all of Wichita, Maria (Dan) Pellett of Goddard; sons, Mike (Debi) Avila, Ernie Avila, all of Wichita, Robert (Debbie) Avila of Kingman; sister, Blasa Chavez; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Memorial established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.

Cecilia and family, I was saddened to read of your mother’s passing this morning. Having met your mom, dad and all the ‘sisters’ while at Resthaven, I have many cherished memories and loved being around them especially on Memorial Day! Having known them has been a privilege and a blessing. Memory Eternal!
