Glenn Skip Sharp
November 19, 1938 ~ July 29, 2015
Glenn “Skip” Sharp, 76, was born on November 19, 1938 to Charles Adeline (Jenisch) Sharp in Stroud, OK. He departed this life on Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Skip grew up graduated from high school in Ellinwood, KS. He went to Emporia State Teachers College where he played football was in the Sig Ep Fraternity. He returned there to get his Masters Degree in administration. He married Sherry Waddle on August 29, 1959. They started their life in Spearville, KS, where he taught at Windhorst High School was the assistant football coach. In 1963 they moved to Goodland, KS he taught business for a few months at NWKAVTS then became the Assistant Director. He remained there for 33 years. Skip then went to Colby Community College as the Dean of Students Vice President of Students until he retired at the age of 72. While at Colby Community College he served 1 year as Interim President. On August 8, 1996 Skip was a transplant recipient of a kidney pancreas lived many more productive years. Skip was very active in Boy Scouts, receiving his Eagle Scout earned the Silver Beaver Award, he was a Cub Master for 23 years in Northwest KS. He was involved with Kiwanis was President twice. He was active as a coach in girls softball boys baseball. He was on the board of the Catholic Church on the Goodland City Council. His passion was helping students he did that by being involved with financial aid. He was active in financial aid in KS and also a 5 state region, serving as President in both. He was also selected to be on the board at the national level where he worked on several bills in Washington, D.C. with Senator Ted Kennedy Senator Paul Simon. He left behind his wife Sherry of Wichita, KS; 3 daughters, Stephanie (Doug) Lambert of McCook, NE, Patricia (Mike) Sprenkel of Bentonville, AK, Nancy (Paul) Owens of Fort Worth, TX; son, Christopher Sharp of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Tad (Chelsea) Lambert, Drew (Matt) Sheldon, Alyssa (Michael) Garrett, Chance (Kara) Bulmer, Thane (Tori) Bulmer, Cassandra Sprenkel, Joshua Sprenkel, Alexandra Owens Heath Owens; great-grandchildren, Charzlie, Zadyn, Zayla Lambert, Lily, Kenneth, Emma, Cooper Sheldon, Deiken Garrett Amelia Bulmer. His family was the most important thing in his life his greatest accomplishment. Family Memorial Service to be held at a later date. A memorial has been established with Goodland Kiwanis Club, P.O.
