Stude, Dorothy J. (Phelps), 80, retired nurse, died Sunday, November 18, 2007. Rosary 7:00 P.M., Friday, November 23, and Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 24, both at St. Jude Catholic Church. Preceded in death by parents, Robert L. and Nellie Phelps and daughter, Patricia Magers. Survivors: son, Robert (Carolyn) Stude of Wichita; grandchild, Christopher Stude; brothers, Robert L. Phelps, Jr. of Wichita and Donald A. Phelps of Overland Park, KS. Memorials have been established with Feed the Children, P.O. Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK, 73101-0036 and St. Jude Catholic Church, 3130 Amidon, Wichita, KS, 67204. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.

Dear Family of Mrs. Stude, Please accept my sympathy on the loss of your Mother, Dorothy. She and I worked together in the SICU from 73 until 79. I was fresh out of training and your Mom taught me a lot, not just about nursing. She was always gracious and compassionate, not just to the patients, but to everyone who walked through the doors of ICU. We stayed in touch all these years and I loved hearing from her at Christmas. I will miss her especially at that time. Once again, my condolences. Janet Tasset Heckman Van Cleave (she knew me under Tasset and Heckman).
