Floyd Edwin Ravens

Ravens, Floyd E., 93, beloved son, brother, husband, father and grandpa departed this life to be with God, on January 14, 2006. Floyd was born in Pretty Prairie, Ks on August 23, 1912 to Henry and Ines Ravens. He moved to Wichita in 1941 working at Beech and then at Boeing where he worked for 30 years, retiring in 1977. He married Mae Best on September 20, 1942 and they resided at 544 N. Estelle for most of their married life. Floyd was very active at College Hill United Methodist Church. He was also well known for repairing lawn mowers and for his handyman work. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. He is survived by Mae, his wife of 63 years, his daughter Rita Alexander of Denver, CO, his grandson Michael of Charlottesville, VA, his granddaughter Katie of Lawrence, KS, sister Ruth Stiggins of Hutchinson, KS and brother Glen of Tulsa, OK. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 2:00 P.M. at College Hill United Methodist Church 2930 E. First Street, Wichita, KS 67214.
