Higgins, Loretta Sophia (Kelly), 93, retired medical lab technician and former beauty queen, passed away Fri., Nov.26, 2010. The Rosary will be 7:00 p.m., Sun., Nov. 28 with the Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m., Mon., Nov. 29, both at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Preceded by husband, Robert, twin daughters, Barbara Jean and Judith Ann sister, Syrena M. Kelly and brother, Lawrence P. Kelly. Survivors: children, Patrick J. Higgins (Cyndi Richter) and Gary F. Higgins, both of Wichita, Scarlett B. Higgins (Matt Hofer) of Albuquerque, NM, Hanae K. Nosti (Dr. Patrick) of Washington D.C., and Ryan R. Higgins of LA, CA; great-grandson, Andreas J. Hofer. Memorials to: the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 300 N. Main, Wichita, KS, 67202.

Mom will be missed by all who ever met her. She was a humble and grateful woman who always helped others. I do not remember her ever asking for anything for herself. Although she was a physically beautiful woman, who won Beauty Contests when she was young, her true beauty was in her great Faith in God. Her inner beauty was her lasting gift.Her life was comprised off taking care of others, primarily her family. I will miss her every day but know that she is at peace and in heaven with her family…eswpecially her twin daughters: Barbara and Judy. Patrick Higgins
