Lawrence, Elsie Matilda, 83, retired Boeing dispatcher, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009. Service 1:00 P.M., Thursday,August 13, Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Preceded in death by husband, James F. Lawrence, daughter, Peggy Marie and brother, Elmer Dieker. Survivors: daughter, Pamela Lawrence-Moore (James) of Wichita; sister, Laura Reddecker of Emporia, KS; granddaughter, Sarah Post. Memorials have been established with the Alzheimers Association, 347 Laura, Wichita, 67211 and Church of the Magdalen, 12626 E. 21st, Wichita, 67206.

We’re sorry to hear of the loss of your mother, grandmother & friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We will remember Elsie’s committment to her family and good friends. She spent time with us at our wedding and shortly after the birth of our first child Logan. Her spirited conversations at family reunions were also special. Unfortunately, alzheimers has taken it’s toll, as it has with my grandmother Laura. Certainly a cure for alzheimers would be the best of rewards to honor Elsie’s memory.
