Jimmie Coach Jim Rairdon

Jimmie “Coach Jim” Rairdon, passed away peacefully in Wichita, KS. He was 72 years old. Jim was born and raised in Cowley County, the youngest child of Leonard and Mary. Jim later moved to the Wichita area where he would remain a dedicated father of two and a volunteer in his community. Jim was employed for several years as a teacher and school counselor before spending more than thirty years at Richie Corporation where he served as Director of Human Resources. “Coach” Jim was also very involved in youth athletics, dedicating nearly three decades to the baseball and fast-pitch softball communities in the Wichita area. Jim was also an avid Wichita State hoops fan who attended Shocker Mens and Womens games for more than 40 years. Jim is survived by his son, Chris Rairdon of Santa Rosa, CA; daughter, Julie Alexander; son-in-law, Chad Alexander; and granddaughter, Emma Grace Alexander, of Wichita, KS. Jim also leaves behind many friends and colleagues who will remember him for his infectious smile and big heart. Funeral Service is 9:30 A.M., Wednesday, August 12, 2015, Downing Lahey Mortuary West, Wichita. Burial following at Forest Hill Cemetery, Wellington, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in Jims name with Central Plains Department on Aging, 2622 W.
