Dan, keeping you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. Midge & Paul
I AM A DREHER – NOW SHIRLEY FISHER, WICHITA – MY DAD, EDDIE DREHER WAS A BROTHER TO ELLA.EMIL & ELLA BOTH HAVE BEEN THE BEST UNCLE & AUNT WE COULD HAVE HAD. AS YOU PROBABLY KNOW THE DREHER FAMILY WAS NOT THE CLOSEST OF FAMILIES – AS THE OLDEST OF 3 CHILDREN I ALWAYS FELT PRIVILEDGED TO KNOW MY AUNTS & UNCLES MORE SO THAN MY 2 YOUNGER BROTHERS. OF THE DREHERS I ALWAYS FELT MORE LOVED BY EMIL & ELLA & IN LATER YEARS RAY. EMIL ALWAYS MADE US WELCOME, ENTERTAINED US WITH HIS STORIES & WAS ALWAYS SO GLAD TO SEE US COME BACK. IT IS SAD TO SEE OUR PARENTS LEAVE US & I DON’T THINK WE ARE EVER READY FOR THAT DAY. I KNOW ELLA WILL BE LOST WITHOUT HIM – THE ONLY THING WE CAN DO IS LET HER KNOW SHE IS DEARLY LOVED. MY MOM & DAD ARE BOTH GONE FROM THIS PLACE BUT THEY ARE FOREVER WITH US IN OUR HEARTS. THERE ARE MANY TIMES THAT I CRY WITH THEM, LAUGH WITH THEM & SPEND SPECIAL MOMENTS WITH THEM. PLEASE KNOW THAT YOU ALL ARE IN OUR THOUGHTS & PRAYERS. STAY CLOSE TO EACH OTHER & TO YOUR MOM. LOVE YOU ALL SHIRLEY & ED JR.
Sorry to hear of Emil’s passing. He was my (Phyllis) godfather and Katie Walters was my godmother. They both passed in the last year, so I was probably one of only a few people who still had both godparents at age 73. We are sorry we won’t be able to attend the funeral. Bernie has been in and out of doctor’s offices, the hospital and therapy and had four surgeries since the middle of January. He failed a stress test last week and will have more tests on Wednesday morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family. May God’s love and healing be with each of you. Love Phyllis and Bernie Brown PS We sent a donation to Lord’s Diner in Emil’s name.
