Carol Lynn Cook

On the morning of January 16th Carol Lynn (Whittaker) Cook climbed onto her Harley-Davidson trike and went screaming up the highway to Heaven. She leaves behind her loving and grieving husband of 22 years, Dale R. Cook; 8 children; 9 grandchildren; sister, Linda Irwin; nephew, Russell; niece, Michelle; many extended friends and family members; the American Legion Post 401; and her co-workers and friends at Watco Company where she dispatched trains for 10 years. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed greatly but remembered fondly by all who were privileged to know her. As she lived her life, she left this world on her own terms. Love, honor and respect, sweet lady. Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., January 22, 2016 with Funeral Service held at 2:00 P.M., both at Downing and Lahey Mortuary West. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S Market St, Wichita, KS 67202. There will be no burial as she wished to be cremated and we will honor her request. Her ashes will be strewn into the ocean off Port Richie, FL in the spring when we will take a road trip together for the last time on the trike.
