Roma B. Tibbitts

Tibbitts, Roma Berntson, 87, passed away November 27, 2012. A resident of Wichita for the past 33 years, Roma was born May 14, 1925 in Logan, Utah. She graduated from Utah State University. There she met and married Farel Tibbitts in 1947. Married for 63 years, they are parents of six children. They have 28 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Prior to moving to Wichita, Roma and Farel lived in Pocatello, ID, Duluth, MN, and St. Joseph, MO. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint and served in many leadership and teaching positions through the years. Roma is preceded in death by her husband Farel; her parents, Russell and Clara Berntson; her sister Joan Pilkington; and her oldest son Kent. She is survived by two sisters, Mary Rogers, of Logan, UT and Nancy Boyce of Pocatello, ID; and children, Alice Kornovich of New Orleans, LA; Tony Tibbitts of Rochester, MI; Lee Ann Watson of Wichita, KS; Clare Clay of Bloomington, IL; and Russell Tibbitts of Renton, WA. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, November 30 at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 1, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7011 E. 13th Street, Wichita.
