Raymond R. Dombaugh

Raymond R. Dombaugh, 84, husband, dad and papa, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at his home in Wichita. Born in Anthony, Kansas on December 11, 1929, Ray grew up on the farm. He graduated from Wichita State University with a degree in geology. He was employed with Petroleum Inc. until forming his own company, Pate-Dombaugh Petroleum, and continued working until recent months. He was most proud of his service to his country in the United States Air Force where he became an officer and pilot with “52 Charlie”. He was a former board member of Farmer and Merchants State Bank of Derby and past president of Rolling Hills Country Club. Five holes-in-one reveal his enjoyment of golf and the company of the “Oil Field Trash”. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, June, to Branson, MO and Fort Walton Beach, FL. Ray was preceded in death by parents, Vivian and Elsie Dombaugh; brother, Keith Dombaugh, and first wife, Theresa (Babb) Dombaugh. He is survived by wife, June (Burnett) Dombaugh; daughters, Dena Robinson (Craig), Diane Sims (Roger) all of Wichita; grandchildren, Candace Scott, Gavin Dewey (Jaclyn), Blake Robinson (Becca) and Whitney Robinson; step-granddaughters, Molly Schoen (Robert), Mary Randel (Johnny) and Melanie Henning (Matt); 12 great-grandchildren. Memorial service, 2 p.m., Thursday, August 21, West Evangelical Free Church, 1161 N. Maize Rd. Memorial established with the Salvation Army, 350 N. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.
