Tharp, Gladys Virginia, 99, died Friday, November 30, 2007 at Larksfield Place Healthcare Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born January 8, 1908, in Adona, Arkansas, to Ozo and Alice (McDonald) Stout. She grew up and attended school in rural Morrilton, AK, and there met Loyd Tharp. They were married Christmas day, 1925, and the couple celebrated 77 wonderful years of marriage, before Loyds death, January 18, 2003. Gladys is survived by two daughters, Emma L. (Watson) Bondie of Port Richey, FL, Guyla Jo (Usher) Condit of Coffeyville, KS; and son, Donald E. Tharp of Wichita. Grandchildren, Keith, Joseph and Dennis Watson, Olynka (Usher) Buck, Scott and Christopher Usher and Todd Condit, Peggy Tharp-Flynn and Jim Tharp, fifteen great-grandchildren, thirteen great-great grandchildren, and one great-great-great grandchild. She was a very loving person, a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and two sisters. There will be a visitation with the family, Sunday, December 2 at Downing Lahey East Mortuary from 5:00 - 6:00 P.M. Persons wishing to pay their respects may do so Tuesday morning, December 4, 2007 from 10:00 A.M. until service time, at the Church of Christ, Highway 166 and Siggins street, in Coffeyville, KS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. that afternoon with Joe Thomas and Clint Howard officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, in Coffeyville. A memorial has been established with Larksfield Place Sunflower Group, 7373 E. 29th Street North, Wichita, KS 67226. Family visitation 5:00 ~ 6:00 P.M., Sun., Dec. 2, Downing Lahey East Mortuary. In State 10:00 ~ 2:00 Tue. Dec. 4, Coffeyville Church of Christ.

Gladys must have had an amazing life by reaching the age of 99, and having such a large family. I am sure she will be missed tremendously.
