Longacre, LaVerne E., 94, Retired Nursery Coordinator for Hillside Christian Church, died Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, August 16, 2013, at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Hillside Christian Church. Preceded in death by: parents, Charles and Minnie Jensma; husband, Charles D. Longacre; sister, Leona Koop; brother, Merlin Jensma. Survived by: daughters, Linda Watson, Carol Hapward (Don), both of Wichita; son, Charles J. (Pamela), of Danielsville, PA; seven grandchildren, Barbara Vandeventer, Robert C. Watson, Kami Felipe, Christian, Andrew, Daniel, and Benjamin Longacre; five great-grandchildren, Brandon and Brenna Vandeventer, Christian, Christina, and Bryce Felipe. A memorial has been established with Hillside Christian Church, 8330 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67206. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Galichia and Regent Park for their kind and excellent care.
