Dee Davis, 69, US Marine Corps, died Thursday, August 13, 2015. Rosary will be at 6:00 P.M., Friday, August 21, 2015. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2015, both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. On Wednesday, April 24, 1946, a handsome baby boy was born to the union of David Elizabeth Goudeau-Davis. He was given the name Dee Hampton Davis after his paternal grandfather. Dee married his high school sweetheart, Doris Harlin, from this union came 3 beautiful daughters: Zondra Dee, Donna Lynn, Doris Jr. Later Dee met married Cecilia Wambugu. This union was blessed with 3 beautiful children: Elizabeth, Kelly his beloved son DeeIsaac. Dee loved being a father to his children. He enjoyed cooking, ironing for his children, chauffeuring them to school traveling. He made 2 trips to Kenya, Africa. Dee was educated in Muskogee, OK public schools, graduating from Wheatley Elementary, Sadler Junior High the historic Manuel Training High School in the class of 1965. After high school, Dee enlisted in the Marine Corps served in the Vietnam War. He was wounded in combat, was a recipient of the Purple Heart Award. Immediate family who proceeded him in eternal rest were his parents; father-in-law, Isaac; brothers, Robert Marion Chamberlain; Sisters, Millicent Charles, Tiny Teague, Evelyn Sells; daughter, Donna Lynn; recently grandson, Trey. Then left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cecilia; mother-in-law, Elizabeth; daughters, Zondra (Johnny) of Boley, OK, Doris Jr. (Herchelle) of Grand Prairie, TX, Elizabeth, Kelly DeeIsaac of Wichita, KS; sisters, Helen Johnson (Thomas), Susy Morris, Marianne Ball, Stella Childers (Marion), all of OK, Patricia Taylor (Wyman), Robbie Holt (Roger), Lynell Mack (Kenny), Jacquelyn Morris (Pha), all of Wichita, KS; brother, Tommy Chamberlain (Stacy) of Lawrence, KS; 5 grandsons, Lamar (Cocoa), Julius (Jennifer) Phillips of Tulsa, OK, Cameron, Kendell, Bryson Brown, of Grand Prairie, TX; 3 granddaughters, Kocrese Nash (Chase) of Tulsa, OK, Jordan Keys of Grand Prairie, TX, Kiera Bird of Boley, OK; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, Friends. A memorial has been established with Kelly W. Davis Running International, 202 N. Chelmsford, Wichita, KS 67230. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
