Wesley R. Wes Ball

Wesley R. "Wes" Ball, 80, retired K.G. & E./Westar journeyman mechanic for 27 years, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016, at the Mt. Hope Nursing Center. Visitation with the family, 7-8 p.m., Monday, August 15, Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. Funeral service, 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 16, Northwest Christian Church. Wes was born August 30, 1935 in Hallowell, Kansas, and lived in that area most of his younger years. He served in the United States Navy beginning in 1957. On March 8, 1963, Wes married Karen Strickland and they moved to Colwich. Preceding him in death were parents, Christz and Jaunda Draeger; brothers, Lee and Marvin, and sister, Janell Allen. Survivors: wife, Karen; daughters, Regina (Ball) Terry (Dave) of Mt. Hope, Angela (Ball) Banz (Brad) of Colwich; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
