Pierce, Katherine A., 89, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away, Monday, April 27, 2009. Rosary 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 29, Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M., Thursday, April 30, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Katherine will be remembered for her unconditional love and nurturing, caring spirit. Preceded in death by her husband, Walter, parents, August and Golden Wassenberg, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Survivors include daughter, Katherine (Don) Trippel of Haughton LA; granddaughter, Julie Fritz of Wichita, 3 step-grandchildren, sister, Thelma Moring of Viola, KS and brother, Jerry Wassenberg of Harlingen, TX. Special thanks to her caretakers, Johanna Kristan and Annette Gaye for their unselfish devotion, Progressive Hospice and staff, Wendy and Victoria and Dr. James Keller.
