Rose W. Zimmerman

Rose W. Zimmerman, 89, former Funston Elementary School teacher, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013. Rosary will be 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, at Downing and Lahey Mortuary West. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 23, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Rose was a longtime member of the St. Margaret Mary Ladies Guild Altar Society and she was very proud of her 1989 “Grandmother of the Year” title awarded by Larry Hatteberg of Channel 10. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leo; parents, Anton and Clara (Weissbeck) Ziegler, and siblings. Mary, Tillie, Beata, Helen, Tony, Blaze, Linus, Dan and Emil. Survivors include children, Cynthia Dieterich (Mike) of Albuquerue, NM, Dwayne Zimmerman (Cindy) and Kim Frangenberg (Ray) of Wichita; siblings, Clara Harvey of Wichita and Paul Ziegler of Denver, CO; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
