Utz, Howard E., Sr., 89, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010. Howard was born December 6, 1921 in Wellington, KS and was a veteran of World War II. Throughout his life, he worked as a professional salesman. He was preceded in death by parents, Leonard C. and Hilda A. Utz, and his daughter, Mary Clare (Utz) Page. Howard is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty; daughter, Cheryl Young (Don); sons, Howard E. Utz, Jr. (Dee), Leonard J. Utz (Kathy); son-in-law, Joseph Page; grandchildren, Joseph Paul Page (Mandi), William Young (Suzanne), Michael Young (Niccole), Kathryn Inman (Brad), Howard E. Utz III, Robert Utz, Megan Beatty (Jeff), Kenny Utz (Becky) and 5 great-grandchildren. Rosary, 7 p.m., Friday, December 3; Funeral Mass, 10 a.m., Saturday, December 4, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at 2 p.m., at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington alongside four generations of his ancestors.
