Eldon James Schierling

Schierling, Eldon James, 80, retired machinist manager and consultant, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, April 30, 2011. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Eldon was born in Garden City July 17, 1930. He married Elizabeth Prouty February 8, 1952. Preceded in death by his parents, Will and Susie Schierling; brother Menno; son, Jay; sisters Ida Neufeld and Elma Enzs. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son, Mike (Kay); daughters, Susan Johnson (Clay), and Deanne Ballard (Russ); sister, Adeline Friesen (Walt); grandchildren, Jody Danahy, Kristy Schierling, Katy Bingham, Michelle Eric Schierling, Joshua Ethan Johnson, Megan Campbell, Hailey Cory Ballard; seven great-grandchildren. Eldon will be remembered for love of his family and friends, his sense of humor, appreciation for Gods Creations and his great generosity. Memorials have been established with the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 North Hillside, Wichita, Kansas, 67219, and Healing Hands Comfort Homes, 140 North Tyler Road, Wichita, Kansas, 67209.
