Nicholas J. Stadler

Stadler, Nicholas “Nick” 81, passed away Wednesday May 2, 2012. Born in Rossville, Kansas, on January 23, 1931, he was the second youngest of 15 children born to German immigrants Barbara (Walters) and Nicholas Stadler. Nick retired in 1989 after 32 years of working in freight inspection with Santa Fe Railway. He dedicated his life to his family and his church. He coached many Catholic youth in sports for over 25 years. His retirement allowed him to volunteer regularly at St. Margaret Mary Catholic School where he was awarded the St. Joseph, the Worker award by the Catholic Diocese of Wichita in 1996. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Patricia “Pat” (Gamba); daughters Carol (Dave) Waters, Janet (Danny) Daniels, Angie (Mike) Holladay, and Diane (Mark) Becker; Grandchildren, Jennifer Hammans, Brandon Rich, Alex Holladay, Kristi Miller, Kati Blodgett, and Andrea Holladay. Great grandchildren. Joey and Samantha Hammans. Rosary will be Friday, May 4 at 6 p.m. and the Funeral Mass will be Saturday, May 5 at 10 a.m,, both at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3800 E Douglas, Wichita, Kansas. A memorial has been established to benefit the St. Katherine Drexel Catholic School Fund, 424 North Broadway, Wichita, Kansas, 67202. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
