Mary Sue OLeary

Mary Sue (Jaggers) OLeary, 86, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her loving family, Friday, January 24, 2014. Rosary, 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 28; Funeral Mass, 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 29, both at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Andover. Mary Sue was born April 25, 1927 in Blackwell, Texas. She graduated from high school in Quemado, New Mexico and earned her Bachelors Degree from the University of New Mexico. In 1947 after a whirlwind, six-week romance, she married Owen OLeary in Bernalillo, New Mexico. In Wichita, she worked at the Catholic Advance newspaper and the Metropolitan Life Insurance Computer Center. Preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Owen OLeary, and son, William King “Billy” OLeary. Survived by children, Denise OLeary-Siemer (Dick), Debra OLeary-Kurtz, Michael OLeary, Mary OLeary (Jim Meckel), Teresa OLeary-Carvalho (Mark) and Rosie Brogan (Tim); sister, Ruth Summers; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
