Nile C. Call, 89, of Wichita, KS, died January 25, 2015. Nile, son of Arnold and Gladys Call, was born in Chautauqua County, KS, on January 28, 1925 and graduated from Sedan, Kansas High School in 1944. He attended the University of Kansas where he met his wife, Barbara Erickson. They married in December 1946. After serving a tour of duty with the US Army in Japan, he graduated from KU in 1950. Nile was employed by Boeing Company as a manufacturing engineer throughout his professional life and worked on Boeings contribution to the lunar spacecraft. He retired in 1988 and spent his remaining years working on his small acreage near Eureka, KS, in Greenwood County. Nile is predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara. He is survived by his son, John Call (Carole) of Edmond, OK; daughters, Shelly Crisler of Wichita, KS and Kimberly Pignuolo (Charles) of Houston, TX and Tupelo, MS; granddaughters, Kristen Cowan and Kristen Pignuolo; grandson, Bryan Crisler, and great-grandson, Oliver Crisler. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Downing and Lahey Mortuary on West Maple, Wichita, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research.
