Raymond Kent Morgan

Raymond “Kent” Morgan, 81, Retired Air National Guard Chief Master Sargent, was born December 2, 1935 and passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017. Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, February 4, 2017, at College Hill United Methodist Church. Kent lived a robust life and died of natural causes. Born in Smith Center, KS, he spent his early childhood on the Highlands Ranch cattle ranch, CO. He graduated from Douglas County High School in 1953 and began a military career during his senior year by enlisting in the Army National Guard in March. He enlisted in the Air Force in January 1955. He was released from active duty in November 1958. Kent spent the next 14 years in the retail business. He returned to the military in the Air National Guard in 1972 and retired in 1995. He had varied careers and influenced many young people for a better way of life. He attained the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the State of Kansas to the Adjunct General. He loved to travel and enjoyed life on the road. He drove both tour buses and school buses for a total of 14 years. He and his wife, Jackie, traveled over 250,000 miles in 2 motor homes, visiting all 50 states, 14 states in Mexico, and all the provinces in Canada. Kent loved bowling, Wichita Symphony, Wichita Music Theatre, bridge, Broncos, genealogy, solitaire, and reading. Preceded in death by his parents, Randall and Marian; brother, Alan Kay. Survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline “Jackie;" children, Randy (Carla), Mike, Robin (Rick), Royce (Shari); grandchildren, Nick (Kim), Chase, April, Ben, Chris (Kayla), James (Danielle), Haylee; great-grandchildren, Finn, Cody, Lea Marie, Jonathon; sister, Ronda (Dave); brother, Roger (Aleta); many nieces and nephews.
