Steffen, Gerald C., 75, retired painter for USD 259, died Monday, December 11, 2006 in an automobile accident along with his wife, Jeanette. Memorial service, 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 16, Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Also preceded in death by brothers, Delton and Ronnie Steffen. Survivors: sons, Tom of Cleveland, OK, Alvin of Benedict, KS, Wayne, Kevin, David, and Marvin of Wichita; daughter, Patti Houston of Wichita; brothers, Donald and Wesley; sisters, Joyce Mathis and Darlene Brannon; 26 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. Memorial established with St. Cecilia Catholic Church Building Fund, 1900 W. Grand, Haysville, KS 67060.
