Aenchbacher, Lida Elizabeth “Betty” (Fincham), 89, passed away Monday, August 27, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 4 at Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Betty was born in Pratt, KS on April 4, 1923, the only daughter of Albert E. and Marion L. Fincham. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Gene, her son, Jack Aenchbacher (Jodi) of Plano, TX, her daughter, Cathy Songer of Wichita and her son, Jim Aenchbacher (Susan) of Trophy Club, TX; granddaughters, Patty Aenchbacher and Stephanie Fitzherbert (Scott). Betty is also survived by her brother, Kent Fincham of Jupiter, FL, sister-in-law, Jeanne Aenchbacher, brother-in-law, Hubert Aenchbacher of Jacksonville, FL and nieces and nephews and their children. Betty graduated from Pratt High School and attended the University of Kansas and the University of Texas before returning to Pratt. She met Major Gene Aenchbacher while he was assigned to Pratt Army Airfield, and they were married in Pratt on December 29, 1945. Betty was an active military wife until Genes retirement in 1970. They were stationed around the U.S. and Norway. Her maternal love was felt by Jack, Cathy and Jim during their many family reassignments and Genes overseas deployments. She was a member of PEO for over sixty-six years. Betty enjoyed traveling and was a volunteer at Wesley Hospital and the McConnell AFB Pharmacy.
