Wagner, Ernest C. “E.C.”, 85 retired Boeing lead staff engineer died Friday, December 12, 2008. Rosary will be 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 16 at Downing and Lahey East Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, December 17 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment at Ascension Cemetery with full military honors. He is survived by his wife Virginia of 62 years. Children, Jerry (Tami) Wagner of Wichita, Jim (Nancy) Wagner of Napa, CA. Grandchildren Mark Wagner, Michael (Michelle) Wagner, Wende Wagner, Jake Wagner, Clint Wagner and two Great-Grandchildren Mercedes Wagner and Cole Wagner. Ernie was an accomplished engineer on B-47, B-52, KC-135R, Air Force 1 and other Air Force aircraft at Boeing for over 30 years. He was a WWII Veteran and a member of the SAE where he was former national secretary of the A-6 committee of fluid power. He graduated from the University of Wichita with a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1959. All who met Ernie could count on him for stories from his days at Boeing. He brought joy to many with humor and a smile. Ernie lived his life to the fullest, passionate about family, faith and friends. In lieu of flowers memorials have been established with Center of Hope, 400 N. Emporia, Wichita KS 67202, and The Lords Diner, 520 N. Broadway, Wichita KS 67214. Rosary service 7:00 P.M.
