Gerhardt, Kenneth E., 87, of Wichita, formerly of La Jolla, CA, retired grain merchant, died Monday, May 12, 2008. Service 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 16, Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Survivors: wife, Mary Alice (Cornthwaite) Gerhardt; daughter, Rosemary Cauley and husband, Guy A., Jr. of Wichita; granddaughter, Rhody Burnett and husband, Kraig of Wichita; great-grandson, Adren Oliver Burnett. A memorial has been established with The Lords Diner, 524 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS, 67214.

Rosemary – I was sad to see the obituary for your father this morning. I will remember him for letting me work at the grain company in Haysville before I graduated from high school. He even picked me up and let me ride to work with since I didn’t have a car. I was young and very nieve but I learned a lot from him on my first job. He was a kind and gentle man. I’m sure he will be missed, My love to your mother whom I remember fondly from the house on 13th street.
