Calvin, Merleyn Ann, 80, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2013, 10:00 AM at St. James Episcopal Church. She was born in Anthony, Kansas, August 17, 1932 and married the love of her life, Don G. Calvin on July 7, 1952. Merleyn was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. Merleyn was preceded in death by parents, John and Cressie Ellington; brother, Elmer James; sister, Ellen Florence Nellis; and by her beloved husband, Don Calvin. Merleyn is survived by her brother, Howard W. Ellington (Nelda); daughters, Cheryl Calvin Dotten (Mike), Donise Calvin Ghella (Don), Ann Calvin Connelly; grandchildren, Sara, Ryan, Caton, Hillary, Mollie, Michael, Je:Gos, Justice, Matt, Tyler; 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, serving on the Altar Guild and as a member of the Daughters of the King. Merleyn was also active as a member of the Wichita Center for the Arts, a member of Designing Women, Docent of the Allen Lambe House Museum, lifetime-member and donor of the Wichita Art Museum, a donor-member of the Ulrich Art Museum, a donor member of the Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos, NM, the non-denominational Wednesday Bible Study, the Wichita Book Club and the Association of Petroleum Women. A memorial fund has been established at the Allen-Lambe House Museum, 255 N. Roosevelt, Wichita, Kansas, 67208. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
