Clara L. (Macias) Hernandez

Hernandez, Clara L. (Macias), 90, passed away September 1, 2008. Her children and other family members were present at the time of death. Rosary will be 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 3 and the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 4, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial services will follow the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery. Clara was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Eliseo Hernandez, parents, Antonio and Conception Macias, and siblings, Mary Mendoza, Conception Tejeda, Alice Ramirez, Helen Del Castillo Osborn, Juan Macias and Frank Macias. Born in LaPiedad, Mexico, Clara moved to Wichita at the age of one and spent the rest of her life in the area. She retired from Cudahy Meat Packing Company after 34 years. She is survived by daughter, Clara Lopez, of Wichita; sons, John (Betty) Hernandez of Kansas City, MO, James Hernandez of Wichita and Ralph Hernandez of Littleton, CO; 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren, plus numerous nephews and nieces. She will be remembered for her strong love of the Catholic faith and her family. Rest In Peace “Nana”. Downing Lahey West Chapel.
