Beilman, Teresa (Buchholz), 71, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2008 after a three-year battle with cancer, which she fought with courage and perseverance. “Terry” was born in Carlsbad, NM, to Carl and Marie Buchholz on February 16, 1936 in the middle of the dustbowl years. She grew up in Roggen, CO where her family farmed. Later she attended Ursuline College in Louisville, KY, and graduated from Sacred Heart College, now known as Kansas Newman College, in Wichita. As an artist, she created sculptures that still stand: the St. Peter statue at the entrance to St. Peter Church in Schulte, KS, and the St. Maria de Mattias statue at the entrance to the convent of the Sisters Adorers of the Most Precious Blood near Kansas Newman College. She painted numerous murals and paintings throughout her lifetime as well, specializing in portraiture in her younger years. In 2003, her works were shown in a retrospective exhibit at Ursuline College. As a devoted mother and babysitter, she raised her own family and helped to raise many others. She loved babies and children, and with her intelligence, nurturing, and creativity, she spent years of her life caring for little ones. It was her lifes work, in addition to the art she created. In her later years, she poured her creative talents into poetry, sewing and gardening, with her garden being featured in a Birds and Blooms magazine in 2005. On August 23, 1958, she married Vern Beilman in Roggen, CO. They were together for almost fifty years of marriage, raising their family in Wichita. Survivors: husband, Vern; children, Dr. Greg Beilman, and wife, Dr. Desiree Czapansky, of Minneapolis, MN; Douglas Beilman, and wife, Dr. Gioia Brunoro, of Wellington, New Zealand; Elizabeth Beilman, and husband, Jimmy Gilmore, of Raleigh, NC; Rose Beilman, and husband, Mark Shoup, of Pratt, KS; James Beilman and Jane Beilman both of Wichita; 7 grandchildren; sisters, Rosemary Bronder of Thornton, CO, Mary Agnes Caswell of Broomfield, CO.
