Alvin J. Knoblauch, 86, retired carpenter, died on May 15, 2015. Rosary, 7 p.m., Monday, May 18, Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 19, St. Rose Catholic Church, Mt. Vernon, KS. Burial will follow in the St. Rose Cemetery. Alvin was born on December 27, 1928, to Peter and Margaret Knoblauch of Mt. Vernon, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne; sons, Carl, Leo and Kenneth Knoblauch; grandson, Drew Knoblauch; parents, Peter and Margaret Knoblauch; brothers, Willie and Roman Knoblauch; sisters, Pauline Peltzer, Rose Belt and Peggy Winkler. Survivors: sons, Mike Knoblauch (Pat), Martin Knoblauch (Lisa) and Robert Knoblauch (Michelle) all of Wichita; daughters, Alice Relihan (Mike) of Wichita, Christine Rubrecht of Springfield, MO, Jacqueline Brewster (Kelly) of Wichita and Phyllis Oster of Waldorf, MD; daughters-in-law, Dianna, Linda and Debbie Knoblauch all of Wichita; brothers, Alphonse Knoblauch of Cheney, James Knoblauch of Warner Robins, GA, David Knoblauch of Norwalk, IA; sisters, Eileen Dudney and Betti Burback of Kimball, NE and Jeanette Becker of Cheney; 21 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, a memorial was established with Victory In The Valley, 3755 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67218.
