Visitation with the family, 7:00-8:30 P.M., Monday, May 19; service, 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 20, both at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Preceded in death by parents, Leonard and Frieda Brown, and first husband, Charles Stracener. Survivors: husband, Claude; sons, Randy Stracener and Paul (Nicole) Winzer both of Augusta, Terry (Bea) Keck and Kevin Keck both of Kansas City, MO, Jonathan Keck of Park City; daughters, Sherrie Lynne (Charles) Laxson of Kansas City, MO, Rachel (Mark) Oldham of Wichita, Sharon (Ray) Young of Latham; brother, Leonard (Linda) Brown of Hillsboro; nephews, Lane (Lisa) Brown of Island Lake, IL, Landon Brown of Littleton, CO. I used to work at Double D’s Cafe in Augusta. Claude and Katie were my favorite customers. I always knew when they came in, exactly where they wanted to sit and what they wanted to drink. Katie wanted a Diet Pepsi and Claude wanted a coffee. I was blessed to get to spend a little time while they were there to chat with them. Katie was a loving and sweet woman. She will always be special to me as one of my most memorable and loved guests and friends.
