John Ashton

Ashton, John 62, Mechanical Engineer for Chase-New Holland passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015. Visitation with family 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday, September, 7, 2015 at Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Funeral Service 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at West Evangelical Free Church. John was an avid cyclist. He enjoyed traveling, the outdoors and spending time with his family. John graduated from Wichita West High School and Wichita State University. Preceded in death by his father, James R. Ashton; and brother, James M. Ashton. Survived by his wife, Marcia Ashton; his children, Jeff Ashton of Buckeye, AZ, Trisha (Marco) Ponce de Leon of Puerto Penasco, Mexico, and Daniel (Jennifer) Ashton of Arnold, MO; children by marriage, Kimberly Moore of Lewisville, TX and Kam (Jody) Hinkle of Leon, KS; grandchildren, Cody, Cameron and Summer Ponce de Leon and Alex Moore; mother, Esther Ashton; brother, Jerry (Jeanne) Ashton. A memorial has been established with West Evangelical Free Church, 1161 N Maize Rd, Wichita, KS 67212.
