Luisa "Ting" Coromina Boyarski
Luisa "Ting" Boyarski passed away in her sleep on February 6, 2017; she was 93. Memorial Service will be at 9:00 A.M., Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Mercy Chapel at Catholic Care Center, Bel Aire. Ting was born in Cebu City, Philippines on July 4, 1923 to Paz Escao and Jose Coromina. In 1946, she married Richard J. Boyarski, an American soldier she met during WWII, and raised a family of six children in Cebu. After the children moved to the U.S. for college and eventually settled there, she and Dick moved to Colorado Springs in 1984. As siblings got married and had children, there were many family reunions in Colorado and other scenic spots over the next decades. When Ting and Dick celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, a number of cousins from near and far joined the growing family for a joyous celebration. Dick passed away in 2001 and in 2010, Ting moved to the Catholic Care Center, an assisted-living facility in Wichita, Kansas. Ting had a big heart and a generous spirit. She touched many people with her ready smile and sincere concern for others. In return, she was loved, sincerely loved, and admired by those she met throughout her life. Relatives and friends in Cebu still ask after her. She had a sweet tooth, a passion for animals of all sorts (she loved petting them), and a sly sense of humor. She played the piano, sang in choir, and hummed and whistled tunes to herself; she also made all six kids take piano lessons, which we all value today. She will be dearly missed by so many. Ting Boyarski is survived by her children, Daniel, Patrick, Gerry, Mary, David, and Kathy, their spouses, ten grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, as well as countless nieces and nephews, their spouses and children and childrens children around the world. Its a very large family! In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Catholic Care Center - Memory Care, 6700 E. 45th St. N., Bel Aire, KS 67226 or to the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N.
