Regina L. Seligh

Regina L. Seligh, age 93, completed her journey in life on earth February 6, 2018, in Wichita, KS. She was born on July 22, 1924 in Scottsbluff, NE and graduated from Bayard High School in Bayard, NE in 1942. She attended Hastings College, Hastings, NE, and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1946 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. In 1949 she received her Master of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. She was an assistant Professor of Biology at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. She was married to W. Richard Seligh on August 14, 1949 in Bayard, NE. Later, she and her family moved to Wichita, KS, where her husband took a position at The Boeing Company as an Industrial Engineer. She attended Wichita State University to keep her teaching certificate in force, and she was a substitute teacher for several years for the Wichita Public School system. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Marie Herrmann; sisters, Clara Muehlberger, Olinda Kingma, Hilda Swindle; husband, W. Richard Seligh; son, David G. Seligh. She is survived by son, Mark Seligh; nephews, Paul Kingma, John Swindle, James Swindle, Timothy Swindle; niece, Alyce Hodgson; grandchildren, Katie, Nicholas, Caroline; great-grandchildren, Preston and Emma.
