Betty Jo Monckton

Betty Jo Monckton, 87, retired food service sales representative, died Saturday, December 21, 2013. Rosary, 7 p.m., Thursday, December 26, Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., Friday, December 27, St. Patrick Catholic Church. Betty was the founder of both Cruise Night for Harbor House and the Girls State Junior Golf tournament. Preceded in death by parents, Everett and Marguerite Monckton; grandmother, Mary Monckton; stepmother, Jeanetta Monckton; cousin, Elsa Pritchard. Survivors: children, Marguerite Gamble (Kevin), Paul Oropesa (Debbie) all of Wichita, Debbie Sue Fey of Linwood, Russ Armitage (Liza) of Udall; brother, Charles Monckton (Joan) of Wichita; grandchildren, Amy Prevost, Roland Burd, April Dunlavy, Lisa Marie Armitage; 4 great-grandchildren.
