John N Jaedicke

Jaedicke, John N. , 76, retired co-owner, president and CEO of Dold Foods, Inc., and U.S. Air Force veteran, died May 20, 2007. He was a graduate of East High School and the University of Kansas, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. Following his leadership of Dold Foods, Mr. Jaedicke served as president of both the W.W. Grinder Company and VIM Trailer Manufacturing, in Wichita. He was active in a number of business and civic organizations, including Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and service on the board of the Wichita Area Chamber of Commerce. Mr, Jaedicke served as mayor of Eastborough and was a committed volunteer with the Kansas Humane Society and Exploration Place. He is survived by his wife, Joan; children, John and Mark of Wichita, and Ann Darcy (Steve) of Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Katherine, Luke and Madalyn Rose; sister, Kay Allen of Overland Park, KS; and brother Fred W. Jaedicke Jr. of Wichita Falls, TX. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at St. James Episcopal Church. Memorials have been established with St. James Episcopal Church, 3750 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67208 and the Kansas Humane Society, 4218 Southeast Blvd., Wichita, KS 67210.

We will miss Big John. John had a wonderful way about him, he made others feel welcome and right at home. He had a passion for life and was a mans’ man. I enjoyed talking with him about anything from politics to sports and everything in between. Our family will miss him very much.
