James A. Waddell

James A. Waddell, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015. James was born August 16, 1935, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to parents, James L. and Lillian F. Waddell. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Waddell, and sister-in-law, Brenda Waddell. Survivors: wife, Loretta F.; sons, Steve Waddell (Sharon) of New Windsor, NY, Scott Waddell of Wichita; brothers, Lee Waddell of Duncannon, PA, David Waddell (Ginny) of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; sister-in-law, Beverly Waddell of Lebanon, Pa, and numerous nieces and nephews. James joined the U.S. Air Force in 1956 and was a B47 bomber pilot stationed at Schilling Air Force Base from 1957 to 1960. He then started his career in the FAA stationed at facilities in Kansas and Missouri and was the station chief at Goodland, Kansas, before coming to Wichita where he later retired. Visitation with the family, 4-7 p.m., Friday, February 13, Downing Lahey Mortuary West. A private family graveside service and inurnment will take place at a later date at the Wilson Cemetery, Wilson, KS.
