Robert E. Hemmen, 86, retired salesman for Star Lumber, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017, while surrounded by his loving family. Rosary, 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 13; Funeral Mass, 10 a.m., Thursday, September 14, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Preceded in death by parents, Victor and Hilda Hemmen, and granddaughter, Abigail Lewis. Survivors: wife, Dolores; daughters, Debbie (Steve) Lieurance of Wichita, Dana (John) Lewis of Lenexa, Diane (Bob) Berning of Goddard; 8 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; brothers, Wayne of Wichita, Delbert of San Antonio, TX, Kenneth of Wichita.
